Sure we have incredible mountains (including Denali, North America’s tallest), untouched forests and rainforests, vast tundra, and the dancing wonder of the aurora borealis. But we also have one of the busiest cargo airports in the world, the most diverse schools and neighborhoods in the country, vibrant Alaska Native arts and culture, symphonies & theater, award-winning craft breweries & cideries, world-renowned skiing, and incredible restaurants (Fairbanks’s culinary scene even earned a glowing Food & Wine article). We are also obsessed with pizza, coffee, ice cream, and showing you the real color of salmon.

University Community Presbyterian Church (UCPC) is a community of Christians who believe in the authority of the Bible, the sovereignty of God, the power of the Holy Spirit and the saving grace extended to us through Jesus Christ. We are theologically, politically, and social diverse, reflecting the unusual collection of people that make up Fairbanks. Our faith community has existed here for over 75 years. We strive to be known as a loving and accepting fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ as Lord. As a Matthew 25 congregation, we believe that we are called to be Jesus's hands and feet to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, help the sick, and care for the oppressed. We are also an Earth Care congregation, which informs how we conduct our lives and operate our facility.

You might be just the person that we are waiting to welcome into our multi-generational, politically diverse congregation. We live out our mission of "Serving Christ Together" in all that we do. Our building is a very busy hub of activity for so many organizations from AA to Girl Scouts to a Farmer's Market. We are also busy supporting many ministries in our local community.
In addition to working with all of us in serving God, you can experience all that he has blessed us with here in Alaska. Everything from hiking to skiing to soaking up the midnight sun. It is all right outside your door. The best part is the town of Palmer with its small-town local events and all of the amenities of stores, doctors, schools, restaurants, etc. Guess what? We have a very historic manse that you can call home! No igloo for you!
